L'Orangeraie is a recently restored, simple and comfortable 17th century stone house, which enjoys a unique spot in the heart of the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes. At a 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village, it offers the quietness of a lovely Mediterranean garden and a roof terrace, both with a stunning view to the sea and the surrounding medieval houses. The house and garden are oriented to the South, and offer the pleasure of sunshine all day long.

The 90 m2 large house is divided into two parts. In the main house, the large glass doors of the living-room open to a wonderful view of the garden, with its palm tree and orange trees. This delightful room is furnished with a dining-table, and a high quality sofa, that can accommodate one person. A modern, closed fireplace, built into the wall, will brighten your evenings. The simple but elegant, fully equipped kitchen, next to the dining area, is also on the ground floor, as well as a small breakfast room. A small courtyard leads to the guestroom, with a 140 cm futon bed, and an adjacent shower-room with a WC.

The inside and outside stairs take you to the top floor, with two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with two 90 cm single beds that can be transformed into a king size bed. It opens onto the terrace, with its magnificent view of the sea, the garden, and the medieval houses. On the landing, you will find another small, open bedroom, with a single bed. Between the two bedrooms, there is a bathroom with a bathtub, also equipped with wardrobes.

Please note, that you cannot drive up to this house. From the little street above, there are first some steps, then a stone path leading down to the house. At the end of it, a green gate opens to the garden - a little paradise!

Haut de Cagnes being a medieval hilltop village, there are cobbled pedestrian streets as well as asphalt ones. Some of the streets can be a little steep. But there is a free shuttle bus that takes you up and down the hill, for one or two stops, or all the way to Cagnes-sur-Mer at the foot of the hill. The ride only takes a couple of minutes.

In Haut de Cagnes, a medieval hilltop village between Nice and Antibes. 12 min to the airport. 20 min walk to the beach, 5 min by car. A free shuttle takes you to grocery stores, banks and post office in Cagnes sur Mer, in only a couple of minutes. 10 min by car to St Paul de Vence and the medieval city of Vence. 20 min to Nice, Cannes and Antibes. 30 min to Grasse and Italy. 17 golf courses within a 30 min drive. 1,5 hour´s drive to skiing sites.

Parking can be found for free, here and there in the village. There is also a secure, underground parking lot that charges 42 euros/week. You are never more than a 5 min walk from the house.
