Available for rent: May-October and on demand
Villa Boriselle is a totally refurbished home with a spacious garden, in the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes. The villa enjoys the sun most of the day, but it is also possible to find some shade, thanks to some high trees. Please note that when the photos were taken, the garden had not yet been taken care of, but a lot of work will be done during the winter of 2009-2010.
Villa Boriselle is named after the famous Russian painter and artist Boris Grigoriev, who used to live here some decades ago. Lots of interesting people have been to parties in the garden... Among them the Russian composer Rakmaninov. You can see one of Grigoriev´s paintings in the permanent exhibition at the Grimaldi castle, at the top of the hill.
The main entrance is on the ground level. Here, you will find a little study, and a guest bedroom with a private bathroom. A staircase takes you up to the main floor with a large combined living- and dining-room, only separated by a vault. Doors lead out to a balcony, and on to a terrace and the upper level of the garden. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and a separate wc just next to it. The living-room has a flat screen TV, and is furnished with two single beds that together form an angle sofa. The modern dining table is sitting under a high ceiling, hand has a view to the garden. An open bar kitchen - brand new like the rest of the house - is conveniently close. From there, just walk out the door, and you are in the upper garden, with an outdoor dining table.

Haut de Cagnes is a wonderful historical village, perched on a hilltop between Nice and Antibes, and overlooking the coastline between Cap Ferrat and Cap d´Antibes. Coming here is like walking a couple of hundred years back in time. Most people fall in love with it, some even find it magic. There are no tourist shops, but around 10-15 restaurants, a bar and a jazz club. The Place du Chateau is the heart of the village, and here you find the obligatory "boule" arena and many restaurants. Take a short walk (around 5 minutes) and you get to the modern part of Cagnes sur Mer, where you find one of the best covered Provencal markets of the French Riviera. There are also two supermarkets, banks, lots of shops, vegetable stands, wine merchants, etc.
The mayor of Cagnes sur Mer is ambitious, and we now have our own Promenade or Croisette. The wide boardwalk along the beach is lined with pine and palm trees. On the other side of the sea road, the restaurants proudly present their terraces for outdoor eating, most of them with a beautiful view to the sea.
