La Perrousine

La Perrousine is a elegantly renovated historic stone house, centrally located in the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes. It is only a couple of minutes from the "Place du Château", yet it is a real haven of peace. From the lush garden, it has a wonderful view to the sea. Although oriented to the South, it enjoys a shaded garden corner with a dining table - wonderful on hot summer days.
The living-room features old ceiling beams, and a traditional old stone fireplace, with two comfortable sofas in front of them. There is satellite TV with English speaking channels, a stereo set, and a wireless internet connection. A couple of steps down, there is a dining area with a generous dining table, next to the open kitchen. The provencal kitchen is equipped with all modern amenities.
Walk up a flight of stairs, and you will find two double bedrooms. The master bedroom, with a beautiful view to the garden and the sea, has a private bathroom with a tub. The guest bedroom offers an adjacent bathroom, with a shower, a wash basin, and a toilet. There is also a separate wc. The third bedroom, sleeping two - or four - is on the top floor of the house.

The historic village of Haut de Cagnes is a charming little world of its own. It sits on a hilltop, between Nice and Antibes, and is only a 15 minutes walk from the beach. Nice airport is 15 minutes by car, Nice and Cannes about 20 minutes. Buses take you to Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, St Paul and Vence. The train goes along the coast to Italy. The village itself boasts around 15 restaurants. At the foot of the hill, in the modern town of Cagnes-sur-Mer, there is a wonderful covered Provencal food market, surrounded by stalls with vegetables, fruits and flowers. Little shops offer local specialities. There are a couple of supermarkets in the town centre, and many more in the immediate region.
